Position Description

The stylist’s assistant is expected to maximize sales by providing exceptional client service and support for the sales associates. Assisting them to create and maintain long-term, quality relationships with customers by understanding the client’s wardrobe needs, and then showing them appropriate product to meet those needs.

As a stylist’s assistant, you will play a key role in enhancing our image as a luxury boutique. You will learn the facts behind our international women’s merchandise. Your success depends primarily on how adept you are at providing clients with professional, personalized service which fills their needs.  You will partake in an extensive client service training program that will help you maximize your potential and increase client loyalty. You will also be working with a supportive Store Team that is designed to help you work smarter not harder.

Job Requirements:

A.   Assisting the Stylist

  • Meet with the stylist every morning to discuss her needs for the day

  • Monitor her hold rod daily for new trunk show arrivals

  • Call her customers for trunk show, special events, and at sale time

  • Work with her in dressing rooms as she helps clients

  • Assist the stylist’s customers when she is out of the store

  • Send out thank you notes and letters as needed

  • Make pickups and deliveries to her clients when needed

  • Assist with merchandise swaps as needed

B.     Training and Product Knowledge

  • Go through Harry Friedman’s Training Program with Manager and know Barbara/Jean’s technique on selling.

  • Keep abreast of fashion trends by reading magazine articles, training meetings, and visiting competitors.

  • Stay informed on current inventory (availability, color, in stock, prices)

  • Attend seminars for further training as needed.

C.     Other Responsibilities

  • Assist event coordinator with style shows (fittings, food, lighting, music, etc.)

  • Assist with merchandising and store presentation.

  • Attend all in-store events.

  • Help with charity/road show events (pre-event set up, the event, and post clean-up)

  • Conduct informative meetings when assigned.

  • Attend Friday meetings and storewide meetings without fail.

  • Keep buyers informed of what your customers’ needs and wants are, what lines or products we can add to expand the business.

  • Help with markdowns when needed.

  • Share cleaning and kitchen responsibilities with co-workers on assigned day.

  • Clean dressing room after each sale.

  • Any other duties as assigned by Store Manager.

Required experience:

  • Retail sales experience.

  • Computer Experience a plus.
